I missed it until now, but on September
23, Ray Charles joined other jazz and blues greats like John
Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Otis Redding and Muddy Waters, among
others,
as the face on a postage stamp. It's a “Forever” stamp,
so if you buy it now, you'll still be able to use it after the prices
go up. Here's what it looks like.
It's hard to think of any American
musician who deserved this honor more.
