Here's the John Coltrane Quartet—Coltrane, soprano sax; McCoy Tyner, piano; Jimmy Garrison, bass; and Elvin Jones, drums—playing “Afro-Blue” on Ralph J. Gleason's TV show, Jazz Casual. I don't have the date, but they recorded the song in 1964.
